The word “Reiki” is translated as “The Wisdom of Knowledge” or “The Atmosphere of the Divine.” It refers to the Higher Intelligence that guides the creation and functioning of the Universe. “Ki” represents the energy of life force that flows through every living being.
Reiki is a healing technique, that uses spiritual energy to treat physical ailments and functional imbalances, related to specific organs and systems. It involves using hands without applying pressure or massage. The origin of Reiki can be traced back to ancient Tibet. In the distant past, knowledge of Reiki was strictly guarded and only accessible to a limited number of enlightened individuals. Over time, this knowledge was lost and rediscovered by the Japanese Buddhist monk Dr. Mikao Usui (1865-1926). After years of research, meditation, and practice, he revived the ancient hands-on energy healing. Reiki is much more than a physical therapy. It represents a comprehensive system for balancing, harmonizing, and healing all aspects of the human body—body, mind, emotions, and spirit.
How does a Reiki session proceed?
A session typically lasts between 30 to 60 minutes, and it is recommended for the client to lie down in a relaxed position with closed eyes. The session is accompanied by gentle and relaxing music. Work is done on all chakras, harmonizing the energy and clearing any blockages and negative energy.
A typical course of Reiki consists of 5-10 sessions.
In which cases is a Reiki session recommended?
Our life and health depend on the proper circulation of life energy in our energy system. Reiki activates, strengthens, and balances this inherent life energy. Reiki yields excellent results in cases of frequent illnesses, depression, stress, fatigue, weakened immune system, blood pressure issues, spine disorders, and many others.
At our place, we have a Reiki master who specializes in energy therapy specifically for problems and pain in the spine.
On the day of a Reiki session, it is recommended to consume an increased amount of fluids, at least 1.5-2 liters per day. This is because as a result of the Reiki treatment, the body raises its vibrations and starts releasing accumulated toxins through the kidneys, liver, and bloodstream, which may be experienced as general discomfort, headaches, or stomachaches. In these cases, it is advisable to simply drink more water and consume lighter food to facilitate this natural detoxification process of the body.
